DIVING INTO ACTION
The New Mexico State Police Dive Team is a specialized unit that utilizes diving to recover drowning victims and evidence. This elite team is sent all over New Mexico and even to other states upon request. During the summer, the team also assists in lake patrol to prevent drinking and boating and ultimately prevent drowning accidents.

The mission of the New Mexico State Police Search and Recovery Team is to locate and recover evidence that has been discarded in bodies of water throughout the state. The team also provides assistance to families by recovering drowning victims who have been lost. Through this important work, the team offers a valuable service to the residents of New Mexico by helping to bring closure and justice.
JOIN THE NEW MEXICO STATE POLICE
Becoming a NMSP Search and Recovery Team member requires a unique set of skills and attributes. The team members not only have the ability to perform diving and boat operations but also possess the driving skills necessary to safely transport equipment and personnel to different locations. The team gains valuable and transferable skill sets that could be used both recreationally and professionally. Members of the team are part of a small percentage of elite officers who have a calling to venture into the high-risk situations required of them to serve their community.
