IMPACT OPERATIONS
As a part of the New Mexico State Police Uniform Bureau. Our officers are highly trained and dedicated to upholding the law and protecting the citizens of the Land of Enchantment. Their mission is to run District Impact Operations, assist with narcotic operations, and manage surveillance takedowns. From routine traffic stops to high-speed pursuits, and other meaningful operations, our Patrol officers are prepared to respond to any situation.
THE LIFE OF A PATROL OFFICER
The life of a Patrol officer is always exciting. Patrol officers also work to build relationships with the communities they serve while maintaining a pulse on what’s happening in their communities. The Patrol unit of the New Mexico State Police is dedicated to utilizing the latest technology and innovative techniques to keep our roads safe. Our officers are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including radar and laser speed detection devices, in-car cameras, and portable breath testers. Some of their day-to-day operations include providing police services to the communities in New Mexico, such as drug interdiction, crime-directed patrols, domestic cases, burglaries, child abuse cases, and even handling DWI issues throughout the State of New Mexico. Additionally, we continuously explore new technologies and strategies to enhance our ability to serve the community and ensure public safety.

The primary focus of the Uniform Bureau is to ensure the safety of the citizens of New Mexico and all travelers throughout the state, with a particular emphasis on rural areas. This is accomplished through visible traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, and community involvement.
